Lord Ganesha, the loving and popular Hindu elephant god, is known as the remover of obstacles, and the lover and protector of knowledge.

He is shown here carrying a parashu (axe,) an ankusha (hook,) a tila gola (sesame ball,) and with one hand raised palm outwards in a symbol of protectiveness.

Together these items and gesture represent the ability to conquer darkness and ignorance, the liberation of man from the ties of all worldly matters, and the means to stay on our true path. They also remind us that nothing is too small to overlook.

Ganesha should always be placed facing a doorway to remove any negative energy that may be entering the room.

This batik is approximately 82cm x 56 cm. Please be aware that as this is a hand finished product, colours may vary slightly from those pictured
